Easy Skillet Cauliflower Rice Ingredients
- Medium cauliflower head
- Olive oil or ghee
- Shallot
- Garlic cloves
- Sesame oil
- Salt and pepper
- Water
How To Make Skillet Cauliflower Rice
Start by making the cauliflower rice. Wash the cauliflower head and then remove the cauliflower florets from the stem. Cut into bite-sized florets. Then place the cauliflower florets into a food processor. Pulse until the florets are broken down into rice-like pieces. Transfer to a large bowl. If there are larger pieces that still remain, add those back to the food processor and pulse again.
Cook the cauliflower rice. To make the basic cauliflower rice recipe, heat the olive oil or ghee in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the shallots and garlic and sauté until onions are softened (about 2-3 minutes). Then add the cauliflower rice, sesame oil, salt, pepper and water. Sauté on medium-high until the water is absorbed and the cauliflower rice becomes tender (about 5 minutes). Stirring frequently.
Serve the cauliflower rice with spicy honey garlic shrimp or your favorite stir-fry.
How To Store Cauliflower Rice
Store cooked cauliflower rice in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container. You can freeze the rice for up to 2 months. I suggest using a freezer safe bag and letting all the air out before storing it flat in the freezer.
