    Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp

The ingredients are simple but the flavor is delicious in this dish. We love to make this honey garlic shrimp for a healthy weeknight meal and serve it with cauliflower rice.  If you don’t like things too spicy, you can adjust the spice level by the amount of sriracha and cayenne pepper that is added.

Let me know in the comments below if you tried it and loved this dish as much as we do!

Why You Will Love This Recipe

    1. Flavor: The sweet and spicy flavor profile of this shrimp is so tasty! If you like a bit of spic in your recipes, check out Spicy Sesame Peanut Zucchini Noodles and The Best Buffalo Turkey Meatballs recipes.
    2. Fast: It honestly doesn’t get much quicker than this recipe! It’s made in 10 minutes and all put together in a single skillet. The perfect meal for busy days.
    3. Customize: Like I mentioned, we love to serve this spicy shrimp over easy skillet cauliflower rice but you could also serve over noodles, greens, or regular rice.

Here’s what you’ll need to make honey garlic shrimp

    • Shrimp: I recommend using raw shrimp that has the tail off, is peeled and deveined. Make sure your shrimp is thawed before cooking. You can thaw frozen shrimp by either putting it in the refrigerator the night before or putting the shrimp in a large bowl of cold water for about 15 minutes.
    • Honey: The sweet touch that this dish needs. Honey pairs perfectly with the sriracha to give that sweet and spicy flavor we love.
    • Coconut aminos: I love using coconut aminos as a soy sauce alternative in dishes like this or stir-fry.
    • Garlic: Two cloves of garlic is added to this recipe.
    • Sriracha: The spicy ingredient that is essential in this recipe.
    • Cayenne pepper: Feel free to leave out if you think the sriracha is enough spice for you.
    • Apple cider vinegar
    • Sesame oil
    • Salt and Pepper
    • Arrowroot powder: this is added as a thickening agent in the dish but can be left out if you prefer a runnier sauce.

How to make Easy Spicy Honey Garlic Shrimp

Like I mentioned, one of my favorite things about this dish is how simple it is to make. In under 10 minutes, you’ll have a healthy meal that is gluten free and dairy free!

    Here’s how to make it:

    1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, coconut aminos, minced garlic, sriracha, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, cayenne, salt and pepper. Add the arrowroot powder and whisk again until combined.
    2. Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat with olive oil. Add the thawed shrimp. Cook the shrimp, stirring frequently, until they are opaque and cooked through. This usually takes about 2-3 mins each side.
    3. Next, pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
    4. Serve over cauliflower rice and top with chopped green onions.
