Gluten Free Pizza Dough That’s Easy To Make
There have been many times where my kids have asked for a pizza night but we don’t have yeast. Lucky for them, I know that delicious gluten free pizza does not require yeast.
This gluten-free pizza dough skips the yeast and relies on baking powder and egg for a light, airy rise. You’ll still get that perfect crust texture without the wait, making pizza night quicker and easier!
This recipe uses a combination of gluten-free all-purpose flour and almond flour but if you’re looking for a grain-free pizza option, check out our gf pizza bites recipe.

Ingredients You’ll Need For Gluten-Free Pizza Crust (No Yeast)
This easy pizza crust is made with under 10 ingredients and can be prepared in a matter of minutes.

- Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour– Use a high-quality 1:1 gluten-free flour blend that contains xanthan gum for structure and elasticity. If your blend doesn’t include xanthan gum, add about ½ teaspoon per cup of flour.
- Almond Flour – Adds a slight nuttiness and enhances the texture, making the crust softer on the inside while keeping it crisp on the outside.
- Baking Powder – The key leavening agent that helps the dough rise without yeast, creating a light and airy texture. Make sure your baking powder is fresh for the best results.
- Egg – Adds more rise for a fluffy crust. Note, you can substitute the egg with a vegan flax egg if preferred.
- Salt – A little salt enhances the overall taste of the crust.
- Olive Oil – Adds moisture and improves the dough’s flexibility.
- Water – Warm water keeps the dough pliable and easier to work with. Adjust the amount of water as needed.
- Optional Seasonings – Garlic powder and Italian seasoning can be mixed into the dough for extra flavor.

Tips For The BEST Gluten Free Pizza Crust
This pizza dough without yeast recipe is straight-forward and easy to follow. But here are a few extra tips to help along the way for the best results every time.
Measure Flour Correctly
Use the spoon-and-level method to avoid packing too much flour, which can lead to a dry crust. If you find your pizza dough is too dry while mixing it, add a little more water.
Don’t Overwork the Dough
Since there’s no gluten, excessive mixing isn’t necessary and can make the dough tough. Mix until just combined and let the dough rest for 10 minutes before rolling to help improve the texture.
Thin Crust or Thick Crust
The egg and baking powder that is used in this recipe will give this crust rise. If you prefer a thin crust pizza, simply roll out the crust thinner so it’s not too thick when baking. If you’re adding many toppings to your pizza you may want to make the pizza crust thicker.
Pre-Bake the Crust
Baking the crust for 8–10 minutes before adding toppings prevents a soggy pizza and ensures a firm, crispy base.
Top Tip
Brush the edges with olive oil before baking to add extra flavor and a golden-brown color to the crust.
Step-by-Step Instructions for GF Pizza Crust

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, almond flour, baking powder, salt, and seasonings.

Step 2
Stir in olive oil, warm water, and egg, mixing until a soft dough forms.
If dough is too dry, add a tiny bit more water; if too wet, sprinkle in more GF flour. You’ll want a dough that has a slightly tacky consistency.

Step 3
Place dough on the parchment paper and press it into a thin, even circle (about ¼-inch thick). For extra crispiness, brush with olive oil. Pre-bake the crust 10 minutes until lightly golden.

Step 4
Spread sauce, cheese, and toppings of choice.
Bake for another 8-10 minutes or until crust is crispy and cheese is melted.

Alternatively, you can shape the pizza dough and wrap tightly before putting it in the freezer. This way you can bake it from frozen without having to thaw it overnight. You will probably need to add a few minutes to the bake time if using the frozen dough.
